I have always had an interest in history, my interest in Local History in particular Aslockton and Whatton-in-the-Vale (I have lived in both parishes) took root in the 1990s. I was one of the founder members of the Cranmer Local History Group in 2001 and that gave me an outlet for my interest. The Group has now has a wider Local History interest so I have decided to publish the material that I have amassed about Whatton and Aslockton and to a lesser extent Scarrington on this website.
Most of the documents are made up of articles by me, although I also include transcripts that I have made of various source material and contributions from others (their involvement is acknowledged in the text).
